What should I include in my bio?
Your bio is the place where you can set yourself apart from other members and is what will help you come up in product searches. Make sure what you write is full of key words that describes your product. This will help you come up when the media is searching the website looking for product to use. For example, use words that describe your product such as, "gold heart shaped locket or black leather boots" instead of, "I graduated from FIT in 1999." We cannot stress this enough, so we’ll say it again, use key words that describe your product!
I am having trouble sizing my images properly for my brochure. How do I get help?
We're here to help you make listing with us as pain free as possible! Contact us at info@luprocks.com and we will walk you through the process of resizing your image.
How do I get my listing posted on the home page?
You must be a featured RockStar member to appear on the homepage. Featured RockStar members receive random rotation on the homepage and appear at the top of your category in alphabetical order for an additional $200 a year.

Of course not! Luprocks.com serves to enhance your exposure by bringing media that are looking for product directly to you.
If I have a PR agency, can I still sign up with LupRocks.com?
Yes! We're here to boost any efforts you're already making towards promoting yourself. We recommend forwarding any correspondence you receive to your agency of record so they can fulfill request. You can also ask your PR Agency to register your account on your behalf so media requests go directly to them.
How do I know my jewelry/accessories are safe?
Anyone visiting LupRocks.com agrees to the terms and conditions set forth by the LupRocks administrators (view terms and conditions). While we approve all members requesting access to the list of designers, we are not responsible for false or untrue information submitted by anyone registering for our site. All contact information between parties is given upon choosing the designer, and it is at the designer's discretion to accept the information set forth by the media person(s). We highly recommend requesting insurance certificates, letters of insurance and/or purchase orders depending upon the media request. Samples of these documents will be sent to you in your welcome package upon sign up so you know what to ask for.

What is the cost for members of the media?
There is none!! LupRocks is completely free for the media. LupRocks.com knows how difficult it is to flip through hundreds of disorderly press kits when you're looking for something specific. We've consolidated everything for you to make it as easy as possible to get what you need, saving you time and energy.
Are designers able to contact me directly?
The only way designers will be able to contact you is if you contact them first, or if you post in the "desperately seeking" area of the site. In any event, ALL communication is directly through LupRocks.com and will keep your email anonymous, unless YOU give it to a designer.
Advertisers Questions
LupRocks.com provides opportunities to advertisers wanting exposure with designers as well as members of the media. Advertisements operate on a random rotation and will re-occur throughout the site. Advertisements will provide links to your website as well as the ability to view your stats.

How do I get my advertisement on the front page?
Advertisements circulate throughout the site every day, and throughout the various search pages. This also allows your advertisement to appear on every page of the website at different times. An additional option for exposure is to give an item away as the product of the month. This is an amazing advertising opportunity, which will allow your piece and logo to be posted on the front page of the website for a full month, and will remain in eyesight of every single person visiting the site that month.

We will target national consumer publications, regional consumer publications, trade publications, stylists, costume designers and property masters to get the word out and get people using the site.

How does payment work?
Payment is by credit card only.
When is my membership activated?
Membership is active upon approval of listing and payment receipt.
Do I need to wait for my membership request to be approved before I start uploading content?
No. You may post your images upon requesting membership.
When does my listing expire?
Your membership will be active for one year from the date your listing is approved and made live on the site. You will be contacted prior to your expiration date to renew your membership.
What if I make two different kinds of accessories and I want to be part of more than one main category?
To be listed in more than one category please contact us and we will guide you through purchasing appropriate membership.
What if my category isn't listed?
Tell us please! With your help we can grow to suit your needs.
What if I want to upgrade my membership from a free member to a RockStar Account?
You can upgrade your membership at any time. To do so please contact info@LupRocks.com and we will help you.
What if I want to cancel my membership?
Inform us in writing within 30 days of signing up with LupRocks.com and we will refund your money. After 30 days money will not be refunded but we will remove you from the site if you wish.
Success
The LupRocks.com Success section allows designers to post their successful placements made through LupRocks.com. The Success section is FREE of charge and can be used by both RockStar and Free Account Members. To post a success, log into your designer account and click the, "Submit" button in the success section. It’s as simple as that!

Do's & Dont's
What do I need to obtain before loaning product out?
Make sure you have full contact details of the person to whom you're loaning. Get the start and the wrap date of the shoot. If you feel uncomfortable about loaning your product to the person, trust your gut. You can always contact LupRocks.com if you are unsure.
Is my product insured?
From film and television: you should request an insurance certificate with your company listed as the loss payee and a purchase order covering the wholesale value of your product in case they are lost or damaged.
From magazines - request a letter of insurance or responsibility. These are typically blanket letters on the magazine's letterhead recognizing that they are pulling your product and claiming responsibility if anything should be lost, stolen or damaged. This letter should list your product and/or your company name specifically.
While you can always contact Lüp for our advice, the decision to loan your product to media is yours alone and we are not responsible if anything is lost, stolen or damaged.
How many pieces should I send?
Send only as many pieces as asked for. Do not send extras unless specifically requested; doing so will only take up the media contact's time and will not result in extra placements. Also, make sure your jewelry is relevant and exactly what they requested.
How long will my product be on loan for?
It depends on the situation - for a magazine shoot it could be gone for a couple of days. For tv / film it could be gone for much longer, even as long as 8 months! Make sure you ask when it will be returned before loaning anything out.
What should I include when I'm shipping my product to the media?
Be sure to include a memo or inventory list of everything you are sending with your full contact information. Also it's helpful to send a scan or photos of all of the items included in your shipment, and label the scan with your contact information. It's likely you're not the only designer they're getting product from and a scan will help make it easier for the media to identify your pieces and return them to you.
Will my product be purchased by the media contact?
LupRocks.com is a site for promotional purposes, so it is assumed that you are willing to loan the product free of charge to gain exposure in the media. However, it is not unusual that media will ask to purchase something they really like and if you feel like you can make a sale, go for it!
Will my product be returned at the end of the shoot?
Yes, all product will be returned at the end of the shoot. Call the contact at the shoot a week before the wrap date they gave you to make return arrangements.
Who will pay for shipping my product?
Most productions have a fed ex number they can give you and if you're located near a magazine, they typically have a messenger service they can send to pick up your product. If you need your product insured for shipping, you need to state that to your media contact and make those arrangements.
What is the etiquette for calling a media contact?
All media contacts are extremely busy and working 14+ hours a day. Please be respectful of their time and only call when it is necessary. Do not call in daily or weekly to check on your product. This will only make you seem like a pest and most likely you will ruin your relationship with them.
What can I expect to get out of the placement?
For a film / tv show you can request a photo but it is not something that is guaranteed.
Will I get a credit at the end of a film or television show?
You can request a credit but it is not guaranteed. Many times it depends on the value of the product loaned and used.
After I've sent my product to an editor for a photo shoot, how can I be sure it will appear in the magazine?
If the editor follows up with you requesting credit information (i.e. name of piece, retail price, purchasing information), there is a pretty good chance your piece made it into the pages. That being said, there is never any guarantee. Sometimes stories are cut at the last minute due to no fault of the editor or the beauty of your product.
Will the magazine editor send me a copy of the magazine?
Sometimes they will, other times you have to buy a copy at the newsstand so be sure to ask what issue you will be in.
What can I do with my placement?
Feel free to alert your stores, put it in your press kit and mention it on your website.
