When Victor Sabido Basteris, the Italian-Mexican creator and designer of Sabido & Basteris first laid eyes on the murals within the Mayan temples of Mexico, he was struck by the vivid colors, and the way they stayed beautiful and vibrant for centuries. It was during this trip to see the historic wonders, that he was inspired to rediscover the lost skill of making color art last using natural materials. This was the beginning of a concept and a quest that would lead to a beautiful new hobby that eventually became the now internationally renowned Sabido & Basteris.
Completely set apart from its predecessors, Sabido & Basteris combines fine jewelry design with cutting edge technology to dye silver using natural materials to create ribbons of rainbows. The line is distinguished by brilliant colors and silver thread that is weft in a completely unique way. This visionary company is setting the standard with their fine jewelry designs that are a fashionable alternative to traditional offerings.
Sabido & Basteris designs can be found all over the globe including such countries as Italy, Spain, Sweden and Russia. They are the only design firm from the Americas to be invited to show in the exclusive GlamRoom in Vicenza, Italy. Additionally, Sabido & Basteris was chosen by Industrias Penoles, the main producers of silver in the world, to participate as one of the invited designers in the 2009 Jewelry Trends Fashion Show, an important annual jewelry event in Mexico. The company has contributed to many altruistic endeavors including La Casa de la Amistad, one of Mexico’s main charitable foundations helping children with cancer. For this cause, Sabido & Basteris issued a series of silver pendants, bracelets and cufflinks with images inspired by the circus and drawn by children in order to raise funds.
