BIO:
CEZUA (pronounced ‘se-zhu-a) was formed by Cesar Lim and Vlad Lavrovsky.
After graduating from Fashion Institute in New York Cesar Lim worked and mastered his skills in fashion and accessory design first in United Stated designing for Anne Klein & Co. and then in Europe at GFT Donna SPA working with Emmanuel Ungaro Solo Donna, Si You in Italy and France.
Vlad Lavrovsky earned his Masters Degree from University in Moscow followed by certification by GIA in Los Angeles.
With shared passion for gemstones and unusual objects they created a small group of jewelry pieces to show friends who in turn responded with overwhelming enthusiasm and urged them to develop a jewelry collection.
Challenged and excited by the proposition they embarked on a journey of learning, experimenting and perfecting the art of jewelry.
What sets CEZUA’s jewelry apart is its unique bold style and innovative techniques, but foremost: we do not replicate our designs. We want CEZUA woman to have a piece of jewelry that she can genuinely call her own.
CEZUA woman is up to date, poised and inviolable; imposing contemporary designs incite rather than intimidate her.
It is of great significance for us to have control not only of the creative side of the process but the manufacturing techniques as well. This rationale dictated our decision that all the steps from mold to stone setting and finishing are carried out in house.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
We are attracted to working with different metals and textures – silver, gold, copper, bronze, palladium to name a few.
Some pieces are hand forged and others are carved in wax, casted and hand fabricated. The surface treatments – various forms of oxidation and texturing are critical in our work allowing us to create endless combinations of hues achieved in metal alone.
Broad use of colored stones enhances the metal “under painting”.
The finished creations are sophisticated jewelry with a distinctive appearance of tapestry rich in color and texture.
All our work is one of kind. We want our patrons to have a piece of jewelry that she or he can genuinely call their own.
