New York City-based designer Deborah Pagani has created a line of jewelry that consists of classic pieces designed for the modern woman. Deborah, a fashionista in her own right, started her company because she felt it was difficult to find jewelry that was adventurous, hip and timeless. “I’ve always been obsessed with bold things,” says Deborah, “but I never wanted to buy anything too trendy. I like to mix up my style, and I think my collection reflects that.”
Deborah’s very first design, which has become her signature piece, is a dragon medallion inspired by a family heirloom. “It is the only piece of jewelry my grandfather brought with him from Cuba,” reveals Deborah. “It was passed down to him from his father, and ever since I was a little girl I wanted to elaborate on it and make it bigger.”
Her line, crafted with 18-karat gold, also features statement rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, and earrings that are not for the faint of heart. Many of her designs include simplistic diamond settings, as well as other precious and semi-precious stones. Her pieces are timeless works of art that are contemporary and sophisticated, and they can seamlessly transition from daytime casual to high-octane glamour. They evoke the essence of Cleopatra, a woman who was as sexy, strong, and powerful as today’s fashion-forward woman; a woman who has the world at her finger tips and desires gorgeous jewelry to go with her busy lifestyle.
“Working in the beauty industry for the last 12 years,” says Deborah, a top Manhattan colorist, “I have encountered different kinds of women from all walks of life, and I design with them in mind.” With some of the city’s most influential and stylish women as her devotees, Deborah has developed an innate understanding of what women want, as well as a keen eye for detail. Always at the forefront of trends, she is passionate about fashion and beauty, creating jewelry for any woman wishing to feel glamorous and sexy.
Deborah’s designs have appeared on Oprah and TRL, and in such magazines as Gotham, US, In Style Makeover, Women’s Wear Daily, A, and Cosmopolitan.
