Helen Hoppock Lubetkin is the founder of Helena de Natalio and it is her spirit that has brought the company to life. Ms. Lubetkin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and in May of 2003, she joined the Peace Corps and moved to Natalio, Paraguay. Helen Hoppock Lubetkin is the founder of Helena de Natalio and it is her spirit that has brought the company to life. Ms. Lubetkin grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and in May of 2003, she joined the Peace Corps and moved to Natalio, Paraguay. Helen befriended the town’s seamstress and would sit at her sewing machine late into the night polishing her skills and experimenting with different fabrics and patterns. Inspired by her Natalio experience, Helen explored marketplaces far and wide for leathers and textiles that captured the charisma of South America. In August 2005, Ms. Lubetkin moved to Buenos Aires to begin her own line of accessories. The Natalio label evokes her Paraguayan experience.
Helena de Natalio has been featured in WWD, Daily Candy, Lucky, Gen Lux and many other online and print publications. Ms. Lubetkin was selected the featured handbag designer at the Gen Art 2008 Fresh Faces in Fashion Show - Gen Art’s annual fashion show is well known and highly acclaimed for recognizing local, emerging talent. Recent features in nationwide publications is further confirmation of the line’s continued progress and success.
